The Management Information System

Roles and Responsibilities

MLE will be implemented by several agencies, working in close collaboration, as Depicted in the diagram below. These are:

  • Internal MLE by project implementation agencies (SPMU, DPMU & BPMU), undertaking concurrent M&E;
  • External Evaluation by competitively-selected consulting agencies, to undertake periodic Impact Evaluation (IE) and special Thematic Studies and to train and support Internal MLE agencies in their work, including the design and management of the project’s Management Information System (MIS);
  • Participatory MLE by project stakeholders including communities and project beneficiaries, who provide feedback on implementation processes and results;
  • Social audit by Vigilance Committees and others at Gram Panchayat level, to provide independent validation of processes and results achieved, and
  • Third Party audit of performance on Bhawan construction.
